The tournament used the first version of the system Cascadia. It awards points based on 3 differents factors :

1) cumulative number of centers year by year divided by a factor which grows faster and faster (grow big, and fast. In very long game every new year might decrease this score).

2) outcome bonus (2-way, 3-way, etc.)

3) topping bonus (including if there is a tie - this has been changed later)

Typically, 1) gives the most point. 2) & 3) are around 1pt.
